Limitations in the Assessment of Prosthesis-Patient Mismatch
After a thorough analysis of much of what has been written about patient-prothesis-mismatch, the authors come to a somewhat sobering conclusion: “In the future, hemodynamic assessment of prosthetic aortic valves requires thorough re-evaluation. In the meantime, the use of pressure gradients, as assessed by the modified Bernoulli’s equation, may make daily life in the echolab easier.”

A multimodality approach for stage III lung cancer was analysed according to major pathologic response (MPR). The 35 of 55 patients showing MPR fared much better than those who did not.
